General Assemblies are meetings of the entire membership. Our Constitution requires us to hold at least one General Assembly in each of the Fall and Winter semesters. There are also provisions for Special and Emergency General Assemblies, that you can read all about here. It's important for all members to come to meetings, and the Union will always send out notifications about upcoming General Assemblies. If there is something you would like to see addressed or discussed, write to the Union and talk to your Area Reps about adding items to the Agenda.
Minutes, Agendas and documents from previous General Assemblies can be found here. The calendar on the Action! page will show all upcoming scheduled meetings and events.
Union Council is made up of all of the Area Representatives and the Executive Committee. Council generally meets on a monthly basis to discuss the reports of Representatives about what's happening in their areas, and any topics that affect our organization and its members. Union Council meetings are open to any member who would like to attend. Only members of the Council may vote, but all are welcome to be part of the discussions. Check the Calendar of Events for upcoming meetings.
The President, Secretary, Treasurer and two Vice-Presidents form the Executive Committee. These positions are elected from the membership at General Assemblies, and the term of each position is two years.
In addition to these three main bodies of the Union, there are many Committees that help to fulfill various specific functions. See the Committees page for info.
