Members form all of our Committees and occupy the positions of all Officers and Representatives. Below is an overview of the various Committees and positions that work to make all members healthier and happier.
Labour Relations Committee - This group meets with representatives of the employer to discuss any issues or problems arising from the application or interpretation of the Collective Agreement. The Committee discusses solutions to disagreements and violations of the Collective Agreement with the goal of resolving them without resorting to the grievance process
Grievance Committee - The Grievance Committee is responsible for filing grievances with the employer when they violate the Collective Agreement or the law. Grievances are our chief tool to compel the University to act properly and respect our rights and contributions to the Concordia community. Negotiation Committee - The Negotiation Committee is responsible for negotiating a new Collective Agreement with the employer
Health & Safety Committee - The Union's Health and Safety Committee is composed of members who are interested in issues related to health and safety, and is chaired by the Vice President Health and Safety.
Benefits Representatives - These members represent the Union at the University's Benefits Committee, and act as a contact point and knowledge base for issues around employment benefits for our membership.
EAP Representative - This rep sits on the University's Employee Assistance Program Committee and acts as our representative there
Mobilization Committee - The members of the Mobilization Committee work closely with the Negotiation Committee to plan and organize pressure tactics during negotiations. We also use mobilization to help coordinate social activities and to assist in organizing second front actions.
Social Committee - The Social Committee is responsible for planning and organizing Union social events.
Communications Committee - The Communications Committee works on the Union's website and Newsletter, as well as working with the Executive in planning and distributing information to the membership.
Inter-Union Council - The IUC is a body composed of the presidents of all Concordia's FEESP unions
Auditing Committee - The Auditing Committee is composed of three members who have the responsibility of auditing the Union's finances. The Committee meets at least twice a year to go over the books, and makes an annual report to the General Assembly.
CSN Representative - This member attends CSN meetings and represents our Union in the larger forum of unions.
Electoral College Representatives - These reps sit on the Electoral College and are responsible for choosing members of the University community to sit on hiring committees, represent labour groups at the Board of Governers, and any other positions that need community representation.
